[All snapshots](/data/carriers/archive) ## Analysis · as of July 1, 2026 ### Highlights - TF Transport Services LLC recorded 18.27 violations per inspection across 15 inspections, the highest ratio among carriers in the trailing 60-month dataset. - Nine of the top 25 carriers ranked by violation ratio operate under Texas DOT registration, more than any other state in the leaderboard. - The 'largest fleet' leaderboard is dominated by data anomalies: the top 14 carriers each report fewer than 13 drivers against power-unit counts ranging from 400,000 to over 2 million. - Federal Express Corporation recorded 3,207 crashes and 89 fatalities across 138,481 power units, a crash-per-unit rate of 0.02 over the trailing 60 months. - Transco Leasing Co Inc grew its reported fleet from 27 to 2,106 power units, a 7,700% increase, the largest percentage gain among the fastest-growing carriers. The most anomalous pattern in this dataset is not the violation leaderboard but the fleet-size leaderboard, where the top reported fleets are almost certainly the product of data entry errors rather than real operations. The top-ranked carrier, Reliable Transporters (DOT 2950477), reports 2,099,979 power units against 2 drivers and an authority age of zero years. Thirteen of the top 14 carriers on the largest-fleet list report authority ages of zero years, driver counts in the single digits, and power-unit figures that cluster around round-number multiples such as 599,994 and 499,996. One entry, Francisco Gonzalez (DOT 3448531), reports 99,999 drivers alongside 599,994 power units, a ratio that is not operationally plausible. These figures are consistent with carriers entering placeholder or maximum-field values during registration rather than reflecting actual fleet size. Analysts and shippers should treat this leaderboard as a data quality artifact rather than a market signal. The violation-ratio leaderboard presents a different picture. Among the 25 carriers with the worst violations-per-inspection ratios, the top performer TF Transport Services LLC averaged 18.27 violations per inspection across 15 inspections in the trailing 60 months, and two other carriers, Morayma B Ochoa and Cris Transportation LLC, recorded 18.00 and 17.80 respectively. Out-of-service rates among this group are elevated throughout: 11 of the 25 carriers carry a 100% OOS rate, and only one carrier in the group, Agropecuaria Malichita SA de CV, falls below 57.6%. Several carriers in this group are domiciled in Mexican states (SO, SI, TA), which likely reflects cross-border inspection activity at ports of entry rather than exclusively domestic operations. On the crash-volume leaderboard, the composition reflects fleet scale rather than safety performance. FedEx Corporation's 3,207 crashes across 138,481 power units produces a rate of 0.02 crashes per unit over the trailing 60 months, identical to UPS's rate across 112,321 units. Western Express Inc and NJ Transit Corporation post the highest crashes-per-unit rates in the top 25, at 0.19 and 0.20 respectively, though both operate fleets an order of magnitude smaller than the top carriers. The presence of First Student Inc (652 crashes, 6 fatalities) and NJ Transit alongside freight carriers is a reminder that FMCSA data encompasses passenger and transit operators whose exposure profiles differ from over-the-road trucking.
