The pattern likely reflects a known data quality issue in self-reported FMCSA filings, where carriers entering round or near-round numbers populate the upper tail of the distribution. Anyone using raw FMCSA fleet-size figures for market sizing should treat this leaderboard as a data quality diagnostic rather than an operational ranking. The violation ratio leaderboard presents a different, more operationally meaningful picture. DATAJO TRUCKING LLC leads with 18.1 violations per inspection across 10 inspections, and four carriers in the top 25 achieved a 100% out-of-service rate, meaning no inspected vehicle was cleared to continue operating.
