Lower Yellowstone Rural Electric Cooperative (LYREC) is a rural electric cooperative headquartered in Sidney, Montana. They provide electric power distribution services to approximately 2,500 members and over 6,200 meters across Dawson, Richland, and Roosevelt counties in Montana, and McKenzie and Williams counties in North Dakota. The cooperative receives around 90% of its power from Basin Electric Power Cooperative and 10% from Western Area Power Administration. Governed by a seven-member board, LYREC is dedicated to delivering safe, reliable, and affordable electricity. The cooperative also offers additional services such as rebates, scholarships, and outage information.
